Period: January 2027 > December 2028
Objectives:
- Monitors tourism flows in & around the city.
- Defines gaps in the mobility networks for tourists in collaboration with local actors, including the possibilities of waterways as a part of the modal split (experiences MOL).
- Install infrastructure and tools for closing the gaps: Mobility Support Stations (=combination of pillars with digital information on different mobility solutions, seating/resting areas and electrified bikes/steps), mobility hub and traffic management system.
Expected results:
- Better tourism flows in Koblenz and surroundings (nudging to public transport through clear and sustainable guidance) in general and on long term and more specific during National Garden Show 2029 (expecting 2.5 million visitors).
- Improvement of ReStart Compass component ‘D&I’ focus ‘Balancing tourism’.
- On the long term, more balanced tourism in NWE.
