Objectives:
- Monitors tourism flows.
- Integrate ‘living system approach’ for managing and redistributing visitor flows.
- Engage multidisciplinary stakeholder (elected representatives, site managers, archaeologists, heritage mediators, tourism developers, associations, journalists, writers, project officers, tour guides and historians).
- Develops tourism experiences that align with site identities and transition challenges, while generating social, economic and environmental value.
- Implement and install in collaboration with local actors measures that connect the different archaeological sites.
Expected results:
- Relieving the tourism pressure at the coast and enforces inlands tourism by ensuring the interconnection of 20 sites through spatial and usercentred design.
- Improvement of ReStart Compass component ‘D&I’ focus ‘Balancing tourism’.
- On the long term, a more balanced tourism in NWE by balancing tourism between coast and hinterland.
